3 Reasons for Hair Loss in Men
Anyone suffering from hair loss wants to know what they did to deserve it. But there are so many reasons for hair loss that it is more than possible that you will experience it at some point in your life. In almost every case, the reasons for hair loss is likely not serious, but in a few cases it does need to be treated right away because if it is left alone it can become permanent.
3 Possible Reasons for Hair Loss
- Stress - If you are considerably stressed, it is possible that this may have caused your hair loss. Stress alters your hormones, resulting in less nutrients reaching your hairs. They will begin to then, and their follicles will get weaker, and in time they may fall out. Stress related hair loss is not permanent because the follicles are still in place, but the stress does need to be dealt with.
- Age - Getting older can cause hair loss. Much like stress related hair loss, it is often due to the hairs getting weak, and slowly falling out over time. With age, it becomes harder for your body to create the nutrients necessary to grow your hairs back, and they will either not grow or remain short and thin nubs of hair. This type of hair loss is arguably untreatable (since you cannot treat age) though the hairs do still exist and are still growing back, albeit at a slow and arduous pace.
- DHT - Hair loss caused by an overproduction of DHT is more serious. It can occur as early as 20 years old, and it can cause your follicles to fall out - without follicles, you cannot re-grow hair, and your hair loss will become permanent. This type of hair loss needs to be treated early, in order to both stop the hair loss from continuing, as well as save any follicles that are still in tact (and thus re-grow those hairs).
For treating DHT, there are medicines but most of them can actually cause far worse problems than hair loss. Instead, you can use a product like Procerin.
