Reasons for Hair Loss in Women

2 Reasons for Female Hair Loss

Though male hair loss is fairly common, there are a variety of reasons for hair loss in women that are not explained by the same phenomenon. In addition, they tend to show themselves differently as well. Male hair loss is fairly predictable, occurring around the temples and in the back of the scalp. On the other hand, women tend to not suffer from hair loss per se - instead, they suffer from hair thinning, which gets so extreme it can appear to be complete hair loss. The hairs start to grow shorter and skinnier to the point where they are invisible to the naked eye, and this can occur in random patches on the scalp.

One of the reasons they appear differently is because there are different reasons for hair loss in women than men.

The Main Reasons for Hair Loss in Women

Hair loss in women is generally caused by one of two things:

  1. Stress/Nutrition
  2. Hormone Changes

There are other causes, such as exposure to radiation (chemotherapy, for example), exposure to chemicals, medicine, extremely rare immune disorders, and hair pulling, but nutrition and hormone changes are the primary causes of unforeseen female hair loss.

A lack of nutrients from food can easily cause women's hair thinning issues. Clearly if you are not getting the right vitamins and minerals, it is difficult for you to grow your hair. Stress can cause this lack of nutrition to occur, because it alters the way your body is adjusting to the nutrients that you do eat. To solve this problem, you simply take a useful vitamin and reduce the stress in your life.

Hormone Changes

Hormone changes are related to the other reasons for hair loss in women, but they are more constant. When your hormones change, which can occur at any point in your life, your body may not be able to process nutrients for your hair at all anymore. As a result, your hairs do not get proper nutrition, and start to grow weaker and smaller in random patches on your scalp. In order to solve this problem, you need to do two things: Get more nutrition to your hair, and help balance your hormones in order to process nutrients better. You can accomplish both of those goals with a product like Sephren which was designed to specifically target the many issues that can cause women's hair loss.
